Trail Work Series

Santa Barbara

Welcome to the 2026 Santa Barbara Trail Work Series!

We are excited to partner with the Santa Barbara Foundation, Los Padres Forest Association, the Santa Barbara Trail League, and the U.S. Forest Service to present the 2026 Trail Work Series in Santa Barbara County.

The 2026 Santa Barbara Trail Work Series will include four independent trail work events. Each event will be approved, permitted, and insured by the U.S. Forest Service, led by the Los Padres Forest Association trail work leaders, and managed by Runners for Public Lands Staff and Ambassadors. Attend multiple events and win prizes from our brand coalition sponsors.

Registration opens on February 7 for the first event of the season, which will be held on Saturday, March 7. Later events will be held in April and May. Please note that the days and times of all events are subject to change based on the discretion of the U.S. Forest Service, current conditions, and weather.

“Working on our trails reminds me that the places we run, explore, and find joy don’t take care of themselves. They stay beautiful because people choose to show up and give back. Every time I’m out there clearing a trail, moving rocks, picking up trash, or removing graffiti, I feel connected to the land and to the people with me.

Trailwork means a lot to our local community. RPL helped get the trails into great condition so we could race Nine Trails. It got people out on the trails and into places they might never have explored otherwise. It brought people together and inspired folks to think more deeply about the land. And it’s just been a ton of fun!”
