Bryant Baker, RPL Board Member and Conservation Director at Los Padres ForestWatch, will provide information about the U.S. public land system, as well as state and local public lands, and their relevance to our region. Attendees will learn about each type of major public land designation, how they are managed (and by what agency/entity), how they provide protection to ecosystems and landscapes, and the threats to which they may be susceptible all while drinking delicious Topa Topa beverages!

Guest speaker Bryant Baker has been the conservation director at Los Padres ForestWatch since 2016. He has worked on big campaigns aimed at protecting the Carrizo Plain and other national monuments from being shrunk during the previous administration, keeping commercial logging out of the Los Padres National Forest, stopping new oil drilling on public lands around the region, and more. Bryant is a naturalist with a deep passion for local native plants and wildlife as well as the ecosystems in which they live. He is also one of the founding board members for Runners for Public Lands.
