Curious to know what our community achieved in 2024? Take a look at our Annual Report.
RPL is committed to empowering runners to protect public lands and expanding access to nature for all. 2024 was a big year across our programs as we worked toward this mission. In 2024, we expanded our Everyone Runs Fund to award 3 runners with grants, welcomed 28 individuals for our Camp & Run program, organized numerous activations and community events across different states and with different unique partnerships, hosted 21 Trail Work Series events, and engaged widely with environmental and climate policies relevant to runners.

“As we reflect on 2024 and the incredible work of our dedicated and passionate team of volunteers, staff, and supporters, we proudly share Runners for Public Lands’ achievements in this 2024 Impact Report.
What began as a backyard gathering of visionary runners on California’s Central Coast has grown into a celebrated nonprofit organization with a national reach. This past year, we refined our education, advocacy, and stewardship programs, and we established our first organizational Theory of Change. But what we are most proud of are the connections we made and the common ground we found. Through these efforts, we’ve proven that runners will show up to protect the places where we run and fight for access to nature for all people in our community. And wow, do we need to show up now more than ever!
As we look ahead, 2025 brings growing threats to public lands, uncertainty, and fear in our communities. In response, Runners for Public Lands remains steadfast in our commitment to those we serve. This year, we will amplify the effectiveness of our national advocacy agenda, deepen the impact of our programs, and enrich the partnerships that make this work possible. Together, we will continue to defend every person’s right to clean air and water, and to healthy landscapes where we can run wild and free.
Thank you to our volunteers, members, partners, and supporters whose contributions make our work possible. This annual report reflects the power of our collective effort and the hope we share for the future.”
