McKenna grew up on the Front Range of Colorado before moving to California to pursue her degree in Environmental Science and Fine Arts at California Lutheran University, graduating in 2016. Over the following ten years, she called San Luis Obispo home, working as Program Director and later Director of Operations and Communications for One Cool Earth, a nonprofit fostering environmental stewardship through garden-based education in local schools and communities. Now she’s excited to bring her experience to a new role as RPL’s Trail Work Series Program Manager, and to return to Colorado, this time settling in Durango. McKenna’s love for running began in high school cross country and grew for trail half marathons and ultras. Always looking for ways to build community around the sport, she founded Trails & Tacos, a SLO-based run club, now in its third year!
