Uprising
Temperatures are rising and so are we.
Uprising is a tool — for catalyzing runner environmental stewardship — that maps runner activism engaging the climate crisis and ecological threats. It identifies trail running groups and events across the United States working on things such as: mitigating, and adapting to, climate change; environmental sustainability; protecting and restoring public lands; and equitable and safe access. The map includes groups and events that do two or more of the following:
1
Pursue increasingly environmentally sustainable operations and events
2
Promote climate and environmental literacy, and land acknowledgement
3
Fundraise for an environmental organization or an environmental cause
4
Volunteer for conservation work, e.g., restore habitats (trail work counts)
5
Advocate for climate action, environmental protection, or equitable access
